productivity = bliss
Feb. 4th, 2006 03:38 pmI've had an incredibly productive day so far, despite it still being quite early by my standards, and I would blather on about it if not for the fact that few people will be quite so enamored of my new jeans and underwear as I am. So instead, three Subway Stories:
I. Early in January I was waiting for the train home and idly watching a couple of teenagers, a guy and a girl, messing around nearby. They got closer and closer to the edge of the tracks until the guy finally sat down and swung his legs over the side, then hopped down right onto the tracks. Despite being told by a number of people nearby that that was a Really Bad Idea, he looked like he was having the time of his life. Until the girl who was with him said, quite innocently, "Hey did you see that mouse?"*
"MOUSE?" I have never seen anyone hop up that far, that fast, in my life. I had to turn away so I wouldn't crack up in his face.
II. Again, waiting to go home, and a group of three people about a half car length from me were talking loud enough that I could hear them over my iPod. I turned it off to hear them more clearly, because I'm nosy like that and had been making out a few familiar names, and lo and behold, they were talking about HP. More specifically, talking about Sirius/Snape MPreg. More in an "oh my god can you believe what I found on the internet?" way than not, and they weren't fen, I think, because they didn't once use the actual term "mpreg", but one was genuinely trying to convince the other two to give it a read. :)
III. Just a few days ago I was on the train late at night, and there was a group of very, very drunk people bunched up together in the end. Before long two of the boys -- fratboy-looking, no less -- were dancing with each other and singing Bon Jovi loud enough to be heard through the entire car. Made for a very entertaining ride home. *files mental image for future reference*
* For the record, there are three mice that regularly scamper about that particular bit of track. I long ago named them Harry, Draco and Neville, and am quite delighted when they come out to play while I'm waiting for my train. :)
