Sometime in the night, the tide seems to have turned. I am still filled with more snot than one human body should be capable of holding, but at this point I think I am winning the battle. I have been housesitting this week, but tomorrow I get to go home, and much as I genuinely enjoy being here and cuddling with the cats, I think a night's sleep in my own bed will do me a lot of good.

More yuletide! Still haven't so much as scratched the surface of all the yuletide archive holds. I'm not reading these in any sensible order. I never do.

Stand In The Place Where You Live (6261 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Parks and Recreation
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Leslie Knope/Ben Wyatt, Andy Dwyer/April Ludgate
Characters: Leslie Knope, April Ludgate, Ben Wyatt, Ron Swanson, Ann Perkins, Tom Haverford, Jennifer Barkley, Andy Dwyer
Additional Tags: Elections, American Politics, Climate Change
Summary: Snapshots from the Knope presidential campaign.

This story is everything. It's everything. Just read it.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Park (2670 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Parks and Recreation, Welcome to Night Vale
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Leslie Knope & Ann Perkins
Characters: Leslie Knope, Ann Perkins, Night Vale City Council
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Fusion, POV Female Character, Female Friendship, Night Vale Dog Park, Government, Negotiations, Bad Decisions, Happy Ending, (Except for Greg Pikitus), (I Mean What A Jerk)
Summary: The curious incident is that there is no dog in the dog park, and Leslie thinks that's really stupid. Ann's pretty sure that argument's going to get her killed.

I was desperately hoping someone would write something for this request. It could've just been fun but this...this somehow manages to nail the tone of both canons perfectly.

SMOF (3226 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Galaxy Quest (1999)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Brandon Wheeger, Fred Kwan, Laliari (Galaxy Quest), Mathesar (Galaxy Quest), Original Characters
Additional Tags: fandom is just a goddamn hobby, usually
Summary: In this fandom, there are things you don’t talk about.

The story itself is fun and great meta, but the zine! I can't believe they made the whole zine to go with it.

No Unworthy Aim (4851 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Peter Pan - J. M. Barrie
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Wendy Darling/James Hook
Characters: Wendy Darling, James Hook
Additional Tags: World War I, Dreams, Nurses & Nursing, Storytelling, Misses Clause Challenge
Summary: Hook should, perhaps, have died in England and awoken in Hell. Instead, he died in Neverland and awoke in the trenches of 1916 France.

While trying to aid the boys of England, Wendy Darling found herself confronted with a man who had lost his right hand, his past, and his ability to dream.

I'm fascinated how this makes Hook and Wendy seem inevitable, not because of destiny but because who else has experienced everything they have and then come back to this, and survived it all. It is not brutal or violent, but feels like a very true representation of wartime, from Wendy's point of view.

Drop Zone (5278 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Point Break (1991)
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Bodhi (Point Break)/Johnny Utah
Characters: Johnny Utah, Bodhi
Summary: "This is what it's about, Johnny. Finding your limits, going past them."

I didn't realise it at the time, or in the twenty years since, but I think I've been wanting to read this story since I was sixteen years old.

Our Slow Designs (9905 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: 16th Century CE RPF
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Christopher Marlowe/William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe/William Shakespeare/other
Characters: William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe
Summary: Everything and everyone is conspiring to make Will Shakespeare and Kit Marlowe enemies. But Will imagines another ending to this plot, one that he and Kit write themselves.

I have been invested in the relationship between these men for a long time. Particularly Kit Marlowe. My username does not come from nowhere. :) And I just love everything about this story.
