It's May, which apparently means that filming season has started in Toronto again. I've gone past or through three different shoots in the past week or so, and the bloody gawkers at the one on Yonge Street today were practically blocking the sidewalk on my way to work. Bah. But I guess this means it's only a matter of time before Eric Bana shows up on my doorstep again, right?
Anyway, arrived at work today to be immediately told (before-my-shift-started told) to email my new boss, who I've never heard of before, because she wants to meet with me tomorrow. And apparently would like to have me as of Monday, but my current boss told me he told her that just wasn't going to happen. However, going through my email I discovered that I already have a new phone extension set up somewhere down on the fourth floor, so odds are good my move is going to happen sooner than later. If it takes more than two weeks, I'll be very surprised.
I still have very mixed feelings about everything, especially now that, after weeks of waiting, it's all happening so fast and I'm still not sure (nobody seems to be sure) exactly where I'm going to be fitting in. It's definitely going to mean changes to my schedule and my availability and... well, I'm just trying not to worry about any of it until it actually happens. At least I'm still employed, even if a new schedule means a pay cut.
On the bright side, I finished a first draft of a story before work today and it clocked in at just under 13,000 words, which makes it the longest thing I've written (well, longest thing I've finished, anyway) since my big bang story three years ago. So at least that's something.
ETA: Things I've spilt on myself today: lemonade, chicken gravy.
ETA four days later: I just realised I posted this on my seven-year LJ-versary. \o/
