January is January
Jan. 25th, 2006 05:49 pmDuring the week I took off work, the first week of January, I got in the habit of going to Second Cup every day and setting up at an out-of-the-way table and writing for an hour or two. This was a great habit and I got loads done... and then I got sick, ended up going off caffeine and onto heavy drugs for a little while, and that was the end of that. Two completely divergent points come from this.
Point A: I don't generally talk about medical problems here on LJ and I'm not going to start now, so just know that I'm doing much better now and I finally have a permanent family doctor with a practice just a few blocks from my apartment, which is a Very Good Thing. Also, am eating again.
Point B: Despite still being mostly off caffeine, I'm getting back in the habit -- or trying to get back in the habit -- of going out for an hour or two every day before work to write. (And really, I am utterly unable to resist the lure of lattes.) Because if this, I actually posted a story a few days ago (which I will speak more of once the recipient gets it) and have another that I'll likely be posting later tonight. (That I actually finished during that Week of Bliss and have been trying to edit since, which is a whole other topic.)
Other things I've been working on:
* Epic post-war Harry/Draco, that's actually flowing really well but it keeps getting longer and longer.
* Thing Which I Shall Not Speak of Here
* Other Thing Which I Shall Not Speak of Here (Actually, that's a lie, I haven't been working on it. But I have been thinking about it, and I think that counts. A little.)
* A Sky High thing which also keeps getting longer and longer. (In my head. Because all that's written is an outline and this one little bit where this awesome and very old school superhero thing happens that I won't spoil. Also, radioactive snapping turtles are cool.) Unlike 98.6% of all Sky High stories on the Internets, this story is not a Sue.
And in conclusion,
rosesanguina is an awesome lunch date.
